>>> "Institute for International Film Financing Opens Florida Chapter.
(1st Townhall Meeting will be held in Central Florida on 6/28/07).

Where Film & Finance Meet To Succeed Together! The Institute for International Film Financing (IIFF) is an innovative, independent social-impact organization that endeavors to bridge the gap between filmmaking and finance for the benefit of all stakeholders - including the public at large. Founded in 2003 by former investment banker Thomas Trenker, IIFF is incorporated in California as a 501-c3 not-for-profit, public benefit corporation. IIFF has chapters in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, New England, Los Angeles, Switzerland and this month open its 1st chapter in Florida. IIFF remedies inefficiencies in film financing and cultivates success in independent film by instituting a platform for research, education, networking and collaboration at the nexus of film and finance. This ""grassroots"" community meeting is designed to introduce IIFF to Florida's community of filmmakers, entrepreneurs and financiers as well as the public at large. Our goal for this and future gatherings is to provide unbiased insight & education about the business of film and film financing. IIFF will also foster & inform productive relationships between attending professionals. The event features a powerful roster of highly topical speakers from the worlds of film and finance including real-world financiers who are among our guests for the evening. In addition, the Florida State Film Commissioner Paul Sirmons will be in attendance to announce the 1st ever Independent Florida Filmmaker Queue (for low budget films with between $100K and $625K in qualified Florida expenditures) which begins taking applications on July 1st, 2007.

Who should attend? Entrepreneurs, technologists, attorneys, bankers, investment managers, venture capitalists and other professionals are cordially invited to learn more about independent film. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with the like-minded. Established and aspiring filmmakers are, naturally, more than welcome to join us as well! The evening's 5 presentations plus panel discussion will address key issues relevant to filmmakers, financiers, and anyone interested in the economics, business mechanics, and financial dynamics of film. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A. Attendees will also have ample opportunity to interact & network with our distinguished presenters and panelists and amongst themselves and the State Film Commissioner. An informal aprĖs-meeting celebration will take place at the award winning Luma on Park restaurant, 290 S. Park Avenue just 3 Ω miles away.

Where and When? This unique meeting of filmmakers and financiers will be held at the Full Sail Auditorium, 175 University Park Drive in Building 3B. Winter Park (Orlando), FL 32792. The program will be Thursday, June 28th and will run from 6:00pm ń 10:00pm.
